Wood Tools

If you're interested in woodworking then you will no doubt be confused by the huge number of different tools which are available. Many people new to woodworking will want to know which the best tools for woodworking are. There are many different types of tool available in a number of different price ranges. Some of these tools are suitable for hobbies while others are more professional.

In my industry we tend to opt for Dewalt and Makita power tools. These are normally purchased from retailers which specialize in providing industrial tools. These can however, also be brought from home improvement stores.

There is a wide selection of woodworking tools. Specialist stores are very useful as they will be able to offer specialist advice. Home improvement stores can be very helpful, however they won't always be able to offer so much information.

Which tools are essential?

In order to do basic woodworking projects there are some important tools that you need. The basic set of tools and other really helpful items include:

- Combination Square
- Tape Measure
- Pencil
- Hammer
- Cordless Screwdriver
- Cordless Dril
- Clamps
- PVA Glue
- Driver
- Block Plane
- Smoothing Plane
- Handsaw
- Jigsaw
- Router
- Safety Goggles
- Ear Defenders
- Dust Mask
- Hoover for Extraction

In my opinion the most important of all of these is the cordless drill. The cordless tools are much easier to use than corded tools as you are not restricted. The batteries are rechargeable which makes them very efficient. A number of different types of battery tools are available including drills, drivers, lights, and hammers drills. In the long run it will pay to have 2 Cordless Drills, one to drill a pilot hole and one to screw the screws in.

You should spend time making sure that you have kitted out your workshop with all of the required tools. When you're ready to start you will be able to find plans on the internet but not all in one place, as in this highly recommended package. Woodwork Projects.
Whatever you are doing it is important that you have the right tools and it's defiantly worth the initial outlay.!
